Starting the Journey home!

Hi everyone,

It has been a fantastic 2 weeks of safari and relaxation in Kenya! On our 8 day safari we had a wonderful time and probably saw over 1 million animals (no joke!). We got to witness part of the Annual Migration of the Wildebeest and Zebra in the Maasai Mara, be surrounded by over 30 elephant grazing around our car, see a cheetah and her 3 babies and much much more. Our four days in Lamu were spent doing absolutely nothing! Laying in the Indian Ocean is just like laying in a warm bath. We read, slept, walked on the beach and played cribbage.

We start our journey home this evening, beginning with our 9 hour red eye flight from Nairobi to Amsterdam. We have about a 4 hour layover in Amsterdam and then we fly 9 hours to Detroit and then 5 hours to Seattle. We will get back in Seattle around 2:00 pm on Thursday. We chose to fly through Detroit, rather than direct to Seattle because it saved over $400 per ticket.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all, I have officially been out of Washington for over a month now and am looking forward to returning!
